He joined Celcom (M) Sdn Bhd, after he graduated
in 1992. He was assigned as ETACS Radio Engineer
and his was responsible on the radio network
quality. His job function not only requires
him to do investigation on RBS (Radio Base Station)
hardware, he was also actively involved on RF
(Radio Frequency) management by working side
by side with the Cell planning Dept. He intensively
collect, interpret and make report of statistical
report collected from the system i.e. switch.
Consequently, he has developed a lot of software
tools for his department and others.
In 1995,
he joined GSM Switching Dept and responsible
to test, integrate and commission all Ericsson
GSM switches in Celcom’s network. He was
involved in the initial stage of designing the
billing and customer activation systems. He
was responsible to plan, coordinate and execute
for the whole operation and maintenance (O&M)
team according to the system’s specification.
He also gave technical training for technical
and non-technical staffs. His last position
held was Manager for GSM Switching (O&M).
In 1997,
he joined Prismanet (M) Sdn Bhd as a Network
Operation Manager and responsible for the operation
and maintenance of the Prismanet network. These
include the switching, transmissions and radio
networks and customer premises equipments.
In May
1998, he left for People Republic of China when
he was offered the post of Senior Switch Tester
from Dalian Ericsson Company. He was responsible
for testing and commissioning GSM switches (MSC/BSC/HLR)
for China Telecom. Apart from testing new switches,
he was also responsible for loading software
corrections, hardware expansions and trouble
shootings for the existing switches.
After
China, he was assigned to various countries
i.e. Ericsson Morocco, Ericsson Ethiopia, Ericsson
UK, Ericsson Training Center Ireland and Ericsson
Indonesia. During this period ( 1999 to 2002
), he was assigned for different type of jobs,
not only limited to testing, commissioning and
integrate new switch and BTS (Base Transceiver
Station) but, he also assigned to do O&M
(MSC/BSC/HLR/SCP/GPRS ) and conducted GSM trainings.
